… if you are taking family pictures that you would like your grandchildren and THEIR grandchildren to be able to look at, I can't recommend that you store them digitally.

Digital files are not archival!
Digital media is susceptible to deterioration, corruption, failure or simply not being accessible due to technology changes.
The only way to keep an image long-term is to print the image. Each time you open a .jpg file it loses data thus deteriorating the quality of the image. Digital images lose data over time even if they are not opened.
Our digital generation is at risk of most images being lost forever!
Large File Size
Raw digital camera files are very large compared to jpg files and for this reason images will not be stored long-term. Based on the volatility of digital files I cannot guarantee any storage so please order your favorites right away.
Archival Portrait Prints
Professional portraits have an archival life of 100 years as well as brilliant image quality created on the finest photographic papers.
Please be ready to order your portraits at your viewing/ordering appointment.

Now we are in an age of “machine readable” records. In such an age, it’s a question of whether future software and devices will be able to able to access, read and display the bits of digital information that represent your images.
